Car Bomb Destroys UN
Vehicle in Vlasenica‘We don't have a clue who is behind it.

TUZLA, Bosnia, July 13 (Reuters) - A bomb destroyed a United Nations police car in Serb-controlled eastern Bosnia, an official of the International Police Task Force (IPTF) said on Saturday.
The blast outside IPTF headquarters in the town of Vlasenica on Friday night also damaged two other cars and shattered about 30 windows but officers who live and work in the building were not injured, he said.
"We don't have a clue who is behind it. No one has claimed responsibility," said the official, speaking by telephone from Tuzla in government territory 50 km (30 miles) northwest of Vlasenica. Tensions have been rising between international peace enforcers and Serbs in Bosnia. U.N. war crimes investigators are exhuming graves of Muslims believed massacred by Serb forces after the fall of Srebrenica, east of Vlasenica, a year ago.
The Serbs are also angry at international pressure on their political leader, Radovan Karadzic, to relinquish power as an indicted war criminal. A week ago, NATO used U.S. troops based in Vlasenica to force the Serbs to return several tanks to a storage depot in nearby Han Pijesak, headquarters of Serb commander General Ratko Mladic. "I'm sure the Serb police aren't going to find out who did it (the bombing in Vlasenica) so I don't know if we'll ever find out, though we are investigating," the IPTF official said.
