Berserkistan Navigator Bosnia Sends Two Accused War
Criminals to The Hague

SARAJEVO, June 13 (Reuters) - Bosnia's Muslim-led government handed over two indicted war criminals to the international war crimes tribunal in The Hague on Thursday, U.N. officials said. "They should be on their way to The Hague," U.N. police spokesman Alexander Ivanko told Reuterss.

The Hague tribunal indicted Hazim Delic and Esad Landzo for alleged war crimes committed in Celebici concentration camp in southern Bosnia. The two have been held in Sarajevo's central jail since April.

"IFOR provided area security and ground transportation from the detention location to the Sarajevo airport," a spokesman for the NATO-led peace implementation force said. The two men were flown out on a NATO aircraft. Bosnia's Supreme Court decided earlier this week to extradite Delic and Landzo.

U.S. Ambasador Robert Frowick, in charge of post-war elections in Bosnia, last week praised Bosnian authorities as showing the greatest willingness to cooperate with the tribunal. Croatia and especially Serbia have been criticised for dragging their feet on obligations to hand over suspects.

The tribunal, the first court to deal with war crimes since World War Two, has so far indicted 58 people -- including 46 Serbs, nine Croats and three Muslims. Six are held at its detention centre at The Hague but two of the most prominent suspects, Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic and his army commander General Ratko Mladic, are still at large.
